LOWER ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS

First to Third Grade
Children are introduced to the material appropriate to the grade level. The lessons are given to each child based on their ability to understand and absorb. Variations and extensions are presented to challenge and build upon their existing knowledge.

The individualized curriculum effectively prepares your child for today’s world and the class room with different age groups challenges their ability, motivates them and gives them confidence in themselves and a thirst for learning all through their lives.
Children receive lessons and work for an extended period of time without interruption. The practical application of the Montessori method is based on the child’s need to explore, move, share with a group, to be independent and make decisions, create order, develop self-control, extract ideas from experience, use the creative imagination, work hard, repeat, concentrate, and perfect one’s effort.

The learning process of a child can be summarized in three stages. First, the child is introduced to a concept as a part of lesson. Then, the child uses cognitive skills to process the information and develops an understanding of the concept through work and experimentations.
Finally, as the child develops an understanding, the information or the lesson is not memorized but becomes a true knowledge. This is demonstrated by the ability to pass a test with confidence, to teach others, or to express with ease. These are the components of the Montessori Method of Education to produce the desired results for which it is famous.
